Studied piano with prof. Ludmilla Ginzburg and organ with Vaterij Rubacha at the Odessa State Conservatory (Academy) - concert diploma in 1984. In addition supplemented his studies in several master-classes including those of Piet Kee, Hans Fagius, Harald Vogel, Guy Bovet, Ludger Lohmann, Jon Laukvik, Peter Planyavsky and many others. V. Homyakov is the organist of Chelyabinsk State Philharmonic Society since 1987. He plays recitals extensively in various cities of the former Soviet Union, in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland as well. He is an Artistic director of Chelyabinsk Organ Festivals since 1992. In 2001 V.Homyakov won the first worldwide "Jazz & Churchorgan" Competition (Hannover, tt Germany). In 2010 V. Homyakov was awarded with the title "People's Artist of Russian Federation" from President Dmitry Medvedev.
